Many of my designs are deeply personal, such as the Feather Design, which was inspired by Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Day.

The Story Behind Bona Fide Design: A Journey of Healing and Creation

My love for pattern design, drawing, and painting has roots deep in my childhood. Growing up in Iran, I was surrounded by vibrant, intricate patterns—especially geometric ones. From home décor to rugs and wall art, I found inspiration in the beautiful designs that were a part of everyday life. This exposure greatly influenced my passion for pattern design and creativity.

Painting and drawing have always been close to my heart, and during the pandemic, I found the time to explore watercolor painting techniques and dive deeper into learning about pattern design. However, life doesn't always go as planned, and I often struggled to find the time to consistently work on my designs.

Turning to Art for Healing

This year brought some difficult moments, and in those challenging times, I turned to nature and art for healing. Nature has always been a source of comfort for me, and much of my artwork is inspired by the natural world. During tough times, art became a healing force for me, and it rekindled my passion for creativity. My designs reflect this connection to nature—whether it's in the form of delicate leaves, floral patterns, or the peaceful color palettes found in the natural environment.

Sharing My Designs with the World

Earlier this year, I decided to open an Instagram page @mydailypatterndesign dedicated to my designs, which was an important step in sharing my work with the world. After receiving positive feedback, I took the leap to open my online store, Bona Fide Home Decor. Through this platform, I aim to share designs that not only beautify homes but also carry meaning.

Connecting with My Heritage

Many of my designs are deeply personal, such as the Feather Design, which was inspired by Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Day. I aim to raise awareness for important social issues through my art while also drawing inspiration from my heritage. The geometric patterns in Persian Green and Persian Blue that I frequently use in my designs reflect my cultural roots and the rich history that influenced my creative process.

Finding Community and Empowerment

Creating my design page on Instagram connected me with a community of like-minded artists, allowing me to explore different styles and experiment with pattern design. I firmly believe in the power of empowerment, especially for women artists. Through my website and products, I strive to inspire and uplift others, spreading positivity and creativity through every piece.

Bona Fide Design: Merging Passion and Purpose

Bona Fide Design was born from these experiences, merging my love for nature, my cultural heritage, and the belief that art has the power to heal, inspire, and connect people. Whether you're drawn to the delicate floral patterns, the bold geometric designs, or the soothing color palettes, each piece from Bona Fide Home Decor carries a piece of my story and a touch of healing.
